Before fostering or adopting there is a lot of training that goes into learning about the effects of trauma, brain development, and parenting kids from hard places. Organizations like Project 1.27 makes sure parents are prepared as best as can be before starting their journey. But the department of Child Welfare also offers trainings for parents.
